small scale businesses you can start with as low as five thousand Naira.

1. Zobo making; Zobo ingredients are not expensive, all you need to do is learn from someone who is good, make your product chilled and clean, set a target market.

2. Tiger nut (Ofio) juice making: Blend Tiger nut (Ofio) with date (dabinu), sieve till it's smooth. Pack in bottles and chill. It's one healthy choice of drink.

3. Fresh fruit blending: Start with two whole deliciously ripe watermelons, blend properly till it's smooth, pack in bottle and chill. You can then start mixing fruits to blend.

4. Tea making (hot and cold): People drink tea when they are out. As long as you are neat and your product is not expensive, people will patronize you. Neatness is key to tea making. Make healthy tea like green tea, coffee (Decaffeinated and caffeinated) along with other beverages.

5. Kunu making: Kunu making is also a great idea, learn from someone who is good at it, pack in a bottle and serve chilled. Be neat with your product.

6. Pap making: Making fresh pap for people who don't have time to make it is also a great business idea. You can add garlic and ginger to the pap to make it unique. Soak the grain in water, wash, blend and sieve till very smooth. Some may order for un-sieved pap.

If you want to start a business for 5 thousand naira you must think it through very well. Yes those businesses that you listed up there can be started with that amount. Others like it are making small chops like buns, doughnuts, puff-puff etc. You can also sell fruits like banana, watermelons, oranges etc. But these businesses should be done from your home. Renting a shop for a business you started with such small capital is not a good idea, so you should have a space for it in your home or in front of your building. For small chops you need a show glass that you can display your goods. Just make sure of all these.

Yes apart from what you listed, the 5k in the topic is merely the main capital to kickstart

Wonderful write up right there! Let me add a few have:

1. Second clothes: with five thousand you can purchase some fairly used clothes from people who order second hand clothes in bales and then you resale to targeted customers.

2. Eggs and Noddles: this business is also great and you don't necessarily need to rent a shop if you don't have money for rent.

3. Packaged food sales: this business could be done using five thousand naira, cook at home package and deliver to banks and other workers who are usually busy.

4. Phone accessories: phone chargers, head or ear phones, phone casing, screen anti-break, SD cards, usb cords etc.

5. Coconut oil production: with just five thousand naira you could buy coconut extract the oil and fill them in plastic containers and sell.

6. Shea butter production: this is another hot commodity like coconut oil they are used for skin and hair even for cooking.

I hope these helps, I am really in love with businesses that don't require much capital to start. They are all over the place, just make a feasibility study and pick one or two and make that money.

Sell ebooks. You don’t even need any money to
start selling ebooks, but at most N5000 should cover
it, particularly if you can’t write and need to
outsource the job to a freelancer.
Research on topics which are most trending in your
chosen niche and such that can solve the problem if
your target customers. Once you’ve identified great
topics of interest, you can go ahead and write about
them for introduction into the market.
There are tons of great online platforms out there that
you can use in marketing your ebooks, including;
Amazon, ebookit, and many others. Get your ebooks
listed on their platforms and start earning. Your duty
is to pursue rigorous marketing and continue to
promote your ebooks. If you’ve got a website or blog,
even better. This way you can blog about stuff
relating to your ebooks and get an even bigger
market.

In Nigeria with #5000 you can start selling Pure water and that amount will surely buy up to 20 bags at the rate of #3000 and keep the remaining #2000 to meet unforeseen circumstances.
You can also start Groundnut business and still make it sofar you know how to market your business and the packaging also matter .When you package your business very well customers will surely patronise you.

You forgot to add popcorn, with N5000 you can get the machine and other ingredients used for the making of popcorn such as corn, sugar, butter etc. With that you are ready to start the popcorn business. You might get a low return on investment (ROI) initially but with time you said make good profits from the business. Also ensure you are in a strategic location because location also matters.

Starting a small scale business with 5000 Nigeria naira is possible only if it's going to be a mobile business and does not need the person to rent a shop or a space. If renting of shop or space is involved, then there's no way the cost will be that low.

Infact I have seen people that have started small business with as low as 500 naira or even less. Those women and some kids that hawks sachet water around the streets, markets and parks, their business is less than 500 naira, both the bucket they are carrying and its contents.

To be realistic and be honest to our selves. Using 5000 naira to start the business you mentioned up there is more like slave working, I suggest you have a good capital in hand first or you seek for loan before entering business somewhat.
While because real life and paper are not the same. You are starting a business you are not investing.so dont expect returns immediately.

You can start popcorn making business with that 5000 naira because you don't need shade to do it, you need just small tools to start it. You need the turning pot, then a small show glass so which you can be putting that fried popcorn. When starting this business you have to make sure that you are in a very busy area so that you can get much exposure where you are in a busy area people will see you more and they will definitely come to patronize you more. This is the business that I wanted to start up but I got discouraged due to some personal reasons. It's a very lucrative business too.
