The shoe repair shop is still popular here for people who are frugal with their personal belongings. An example is myself because I do not just throw away a broken shoe especially if the sole of the shoes is the problem. It can still be fixed or replaced depending on the damage. An added service to the repair shop is the shoe-shine chore that is special for the leather shoes. I know that it is not that common anymore since the rubber shoes has been dominating our feet. But for special occasions the leather shoes is still a must which means the shoe-shine service is still in fashion.
