I know two or more US senators who are crypto enthusiast. They would go extra lenght to protect the cryptocurrency ecosystem and this is seen in the case of Sen. Ted Cruz. He is an enthusiast who will go out of his comfort to protect the cryptocurrency community.
According to new financial declarations filed with the United States Senate, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) purchased bitcoin during the current bear market.
Cruz is said to have purchased a bitcoin worth between $15,001 and $50,000, according to a February 4 disclosure. The price of bitcoin was under $37,000 on the day of the purchase.
Cruz has emerged as a crypto enthusiast in recent months, proposing a decision on Capitol Hill for dealers to take bitcoin currencies and pressing for amendments to the fiercely discussed infrastructure package to accommodate sector concerns.
Cruz proposed a change to the bill that would eliminate language intended to strengthen reporting requirements for digital asset brokers. Some crypto industry actors are concerned that the current broker definition is too broad, and that it could include firms that are unable to submit the required information. While other senators proposed amendments to change the rules, Cruz moved to eliminate the clause outright.
