When Research and Development is mentioned as a strategy for business improvement, it is always reckoned to be impossible for small businesses to meet up because of their limited financial capacity. While that can be quite understandable, there are low cost ways that small businesses can carry out research and development. Some of those ways are:
1) Utilizing customer feedback to gather data. This involves creating a feedback mechanism for customers to drop their thoughts about their products. This can be a great source of data for the research at low cost.
2) Using free online tools and open source platforms: There are so many tools online that can be streamlined for data analysis. There are lots of open source software that the small business can tweak to it's preference for the research.
3) Students Internship: A small business can partner with a university to get students in it's related field that can help with research at a cheap cost.
