For a company to succeed its need a good and quality information.
Quality and good information must be:
(1) Relevance(and volume) information has no value unless it has a purpose .
(2) Reliability: Information must be reliable information must be accurate enough for its intended purpose.
(3) Timely: Information must be available in time for its recipient to make use of it presumably,there is an ideal time for using the information.
(4) User confidence: Users must have confidence in their systems and the information that they provide. Information must therefore be realistic.
The value of information must be more than its cost.
Information should not cost more to obtain than the value it provides.
This occure when an information system may provide information that is used, but the benefits from using the information are less than the cost of obtaining it.
Ensuring reliability and accuracy of information.
Any information supplying to make any decision in an organisation must be reliable. The reliability of an information system depend on there main factors. Example
Information must be;
(1) Complete:
Information should be obtained from the appropriate sources and it needs to be sufficiently complete.
(2) Timeliness of the information:
Information need to be up-to date
(3)Accuracy:
The information needs to be accurate enough for it's purpose.
All these are the criteria of a good information which a company or an organisation must be working towards to possess.
