As a farmer you have your own piece or plot of land.What do you think you'll plant to bring more income, daily, weekly or monthly?
For me, planting waterleaf is a very good idea.Having like 20 beds of waterleaf in your land,do you know you are rich?,In order to maintain that business, you'll need water, especially dry season,so that you'll feed them regularly with water to avoid damage.You'll also need manure to feed them,so that they grow fast and healthy.You'll also employ enough workers, because you won't be able to do the work alone.Finally u'll need a security to watch over your farm, because you won't be sleeping there.
Feeding and watering the waterleaf regularly, you'll be cutting it every 3 weeks.Now that waterleaf is costly,you can cut 5k per bed, let's assume that.Then 5k times the number of beds you have which is 20beds,you see that you can make more money from waterleaf farming,the business people take for granted.

Well farming is not really easy as you may think because the government has not provided all the necessary materials that people needed to carry out a successful farming system here , that is why you won't really sees people engaging in farming except most people who do not have any choice.

If the government had provided a suitable environment for farmers farming could have been one of the most profitable business and also it depends on the type of farming activities that will determine the level of your success, for me I cannot start planting and selling of waterleaf just for the main purpose of making a passive income because this may not likely to work , it is a business that is always in its season but it can still be done outside a season with serious care.. there are some reasons that won't really be favorable for planting of waterleaf..

What I am trying to say is that farmers over here does not have the suitable environment that is needed for them to succeed perfectly that is why a lot of people may even consider farmers as low life people, in most cases this might likely to be true except people who have an opportunity to establish a commercial farming system.

I love the question you asked at the beginning of your writeup. What comes to our mind when we hear the phrase "a farmer"? Most people don't even know the difference between a farmer and a labourer and they think they are all one and the same.
They think of farmers as those who till the soil, who wear dirty clothes to their farm lands, who goes about planting different crops all by himself in the a very large farm and most especially, they see farmers as those who are into crop production. All these features are the characteristics of a typical labourer or someone who cultivates one's farmland so he could feed only his immediate family and that is not what is meant by someone being a farmer.

Undoubtedly, it is true that farming is not easy. You must work very hard in the cold or in the heat of the summer in order to make a good income from it. Plants need water and care every day so you must be there. This is the difficult part. However, there is another part which is better. Farming is wonderful because you are near nature and away from stress. It is nice to have your own plot and plant your vegetables or trees and see them grow. Isn't it great to grow your own vegetables for your family and eat healthy food all together?

Nice to hear that you are interested in this kind of business. To be honest, I have not heard about waterleaf before. I just searched it and I found out that it is a vegetable with a lot of health benefits for us. I think that it is a very good idea to plant this healthy vegetable and make some money from it. Farming is a good job but it seems a lot of people underestimate them because they think is a dirty work or something. But the truth is I respect them a lot because if farmers are not there we too are not there because is through their effort that we survive.

Let me answer the first question, which is what comes to your mind when you hear someone is a farmer, well haha let me just laugh first because I think I know why you asked this question, most people just look at farming as a poor man's job.. I don't know if it's because of All the stress and standing in the sun and all that but people really see it that way and for me, I use to see it that way but now am no more a kid.. though I still am but I know one thing for certain being isn't poverty

There is a lot of opportunities that you can be able to take advantage of in the agricultural industry be it plant production or animal rearing. The population is always going to need to consume food and meat and as such it is an industry that is always relevantt no matter the state of the economy. You can also choose to specialise on one particular aspect like storage of food or if possible marketing of people who had produced this kind of crops. Farming is a very lucrative venture no matter what direction we may be considering the term farming , be it livestock or crop farming they are both equally good. But at this point i will like is to have in mind that it will.always be better to always lay our hands on the one we love doing rather than doing something because every other person is dong it. I remember some years back when an uncle of mine who is a professional farmer encouraged me to also invest in farm so I acceprd and I gave in the money for he cultivation of the land and the money for the seedlings and he did it as he was suppose to and have agreed to. Then when it was time for harvesting we harvested and the value of the produc were Lower than what was invested leading to a major loss.

At that point I realize that what works for one person may not work for the other person. Hence it is always best to locate what really works for you and put in your best in achieving it. This also goes for livestock aswel. The key is find what works for you.
