Is Medium Worth An Income Stream?
Absolutely! I mean, don't we all wish we could be full-time writers? Writing is a passion, and it's also a career.
Speaking from experience, I can tell you that it takes a lot of time and effort to get yourself on the right path to success with Medium. It's not something that just happens overnight. But if you keep at it—if you continue to write about the things you're truly interested in and hone your craft along the way—you can see some amazing results over time.
You just have to keep going. Even when traffic is low and your views are few, keep posting and keep writing. No matter how many times you hit publish and it feels like no one is listening, there are readers out there who are hungry for what you have to say. And yes, they will pay for it if you give them something worth paying for!
However, there are policies that could suffocate you, especially if you are from some countries, you will find it difficult to earn, there are cases of credit cards not valid and other complications. Most of it is, the medium pays you for the number of viewers. If you decide to write for publishers does not guarantee your payment, though you might get viewers, that's if your post is approved.
But that doesn't mean Medium isn't worth it. If you can't make a lot of money with them, but they can get you exposure and new readers, then they might be worth it as a place to publish your work—just like HuffPo or another publication that pays very little but is a well-known outlet.
