One phenomenon that business organizations should pursue when employing staff is diversity. What is diversity in recruitment for a business organization? It is a situation when staff members of an organization are drawn from different cultures and backgrounds giving the organization people of different thinking and belief systems as members of staff. Can staff diversity ever be useful for a business organization in terms of innovation?

Staff diversity benefits the innovative power of a business organization in two ways.


Diverse Perspectives: When members of staff are from different backgrounds, it brings more balance to solving problems in the organization because they have wider perspectives that cover every important concern for that problem.

Breaking Groupthink: This is a situation where everyone avoids conflict and agrees to every suggestion. This can lead an organization not to grow because they might easily make the wrong decisions or approaches. After all, there is no opposing critical analysis to such decisions.
