The truth is that taking breaks at work is very necessary. Taking these short breaks brings efficiency of tasks, keeping one fresh and aid full concentration at work. Not taking these break can lead to drowsiness and set in tiredness. Completing a task might become very difficult.

Employers know that workers need these breaks and they encourage it. but the thing is that a lot of workers don’t use these breaks effectively. To enjoy work better, you need to give your working life a balance. It should be between work and taking breaks.

So how can you reduce ineffective breaks?

Always get up to stretch your body; this will help get the body off tiredness

If you are working on the screen, sometimes take a break to look away from the screen. This will help not to get your eyes strained.

Don’t forget to take your lunch or brunch to get your self revitalized with a renewed energy

Chat your coworker for few minutes to help keep the productivity moving

The best way to reduce ineffective breaks is to make sure that you're taking the breaks that you need. If you're at work and your break is coming up, check your email or do whatever it is that you need to do. If there isn't anything important going on, just go for a walk around the office or go outside. You don't have to stay in your desk.

If you have a break coming up and nothing important is happening, don't spend it sitting at your desk! Get up and move around for a little bit. Do some stretches or go for a short walk around the office. This will help give you time for both productive thinking and de-stressing!

I think that there are many people who tend to think that taking breaks are not at all important and I think that this is the very first misconception people may have. I think that breaks are necessary and if you do not offer breaks, then things could go worst. This is because your employees would simply burn out and lose the desire to put effort at all. Offering breaks one time is the key, however, you could possibly extend the time you offer instead of offering breaks again and again. However, it all depends on the duty hours as well in the end.
