A cold room business is fast becoming popular in today's world, because almost every home today consume a frozen food, it might be Ice cream, Yoghurt, Froyo, Frozen Chicken, Frozen Fish etc

It might look like a capital intensive business but it all deals on how you want to start, which also depends on your capital, is it small or large?

Next thing you'll need is location, some cold rooms cater for beverages, like butter, ice-cream or yoghurts and some cater for foods, in this case you need to be in their midst.

Then you'll buy refrigerators, which is what you'll use to store the commodities to avoid spoilage, you have a flexible option, you can decide to buy a brand new fridge or you create an artificial one, I'll advise you'll go with the latter because it's really more economical, you can also talk with a wielder to make one for you and there'll have more cooling capacity because an AC compressor will be attached to the back.

You should also buy cutleries to aid in cooking the meat or perishables into pieces to store them efficiently.

Finally, you need to employ some workers to help you in overseeing the shop and to also deal with customers.

A cold room is a storage facility that is used to preserve temperature-sensitive products. These products include meat and vegetables. Some of them are also used as food preservatives. It has been used for a long time and it has proven to be one of the most effective methods of storing food, thus ensuring its quality and smell.

Unfortunately, there are many people who do not know how to operate a cold room. The maintenance of these facilities is quite challenging because they are designed to be functional and efficient without causing any inconvenience in the process. Also, improper use of these facilities can lead to spoiling of food

Your cold room should be well built. You should have standard freezers and your source of power supply should be reliable. Aside from the conventional light. You can have a standby generator or probably a solar/inverter system available in case the light is put off suddenly or in an undeveloped area where the electricity supply is not stable.

You should also get a worker or assistant who can help you in case you are not around, obviously, you cannot do it alone.

I will first like to state as a matter of fact that a cold room is very expensive especially in a lot of developing countries but then it is usually worth it especially if you are staying in a place that does not have a lot of electricity. This means that they are some perishable goods like fish and yet and also vegetables that need to be constantly put in there by members of the public in order to avoid spoilage. You can be able to charge them a fee for using this service and then make profit from it .
