How to detect employee fraud

As a manager or owner of a workplace you need to be careful about fraud in the workplace as it can ruin the business in a very serious way . Employee fraud happens when an employee get involves in a fraudulent activity which could be either stealing from or deceiving their Bosses. This is all in a bid to get some form of financial or personal benefit from the person.

A lot of times employers focus more on external frauds but internal fraud does more harm to the financial welfare of an organization.
So you need to know when a worker is exhibiting the trait of a fraudster to nip it in the bud before it escalate to ruin your office.


The red flags are;

When a worker suddenly live well beyond their means. The lifestyle doesn’t match the salary being received this is suspicious.


A worker is being secretive. and always feel reluctant to share any processes or even wsnt someone to review their work



Another red flag is receiving frequent complaints about a particular worker.


You need to check an employee with inconsistencies in accounts, one with an unexplained cash transactions and one with an unusual increase in expenses.


An employee that refuses to follow proper procedures is a suspect too.
