How to Avoid Overdraft Fees

Overdraft fees can be an expensive and annoying surprise when you check your bank account. But there are a few simple steps you can take to ensure that they don’t hit you out of the blue.

The first step is to keep track of your spending by checking and updating your financial records regularly. This includes tracking all deposits, withdrawals, current balance, pending transactions, and any upcoming payments or bills due. If possible, set up mobile alerts from your bank so you always know exactly how much money is left in each account at any given time – this way if it looks like a payment will overdraw an account alerting yourself ahead of time gives more opportunity for planning accordingly.

If necessary create multiple accounts with different banks so that if one does become overdrawn the others won’t follow suit - this way even if one fails to manage their budget correctly they still have access to funds should they need them elsewhere in their life (if allowed by law). Additionally use accounts with lower or no-fee options as much as possible; some banks may offer certain services free while charging for others which means saving on withdrawal costs at least part-time! Finally make sure that all bills are paid on time; late payments often incur additional fees which can add up quickly over months or years worth of neglectful management habits!
