The quantity discounts work by the seller moving.more goods or materials which will be received by the buyer at a more favorable price for the purchases.

So as a buyer if you want a quantity discount to work for you it is to buy in large quantities then you would have a decreased cost per unit of goods or materials bought.

Quantity discounts are given to entice buyers to buy more or to give resellers the opportunity to sell goods at retail. Quantity discounts can be in the form of discounts or additional quantities purchased.
Example: If the price of a pack of cigarettes is $ 3, then if a buyer buys 1slope or 10 packs of cigarettes, the price will be reduced to $ 2.75 or a quantity discount can be given in the form of additional goods, for example buying 2 donuts gets 1 extra donut. so the buyer will get 3 donuts.
