As for me governments can promote the development of businesses in its country through;
Improvement of infrastructural facilities in the economy. This is through construction of roads, markets among others.
Also the government can beef up the security in the country. When the security is set in place and guaranteed a country can revert to a 24/7 economy whereby the entrepreneurial activities would have been enhanced.
Alternatively the government can enact laws that favours/ promote registration of business with ease. This can motivate more and more entrepreneurs to engage in registering their Businesses hustle freely.
The governments can as well offer incentives to business for instance introduction of tax holidays, reduced levies charges and licenses to motivate more entrepreneurs to venture into the business world.
The governments can give extended credit facilities to local entrepreneurs or giving soft loans.
Also the government can protect the local industries from excessive importation of foreign goods and services/ foreign traders among other ways.
