There are a number of ways to find out more about a new career opportunity. You may want to look at jobs that interest you, or you may want to learn more about the organization itself.

Check the directory section of your local newspaper or online. Many newspapers have a classifieds section where you can find jobs and other opportunities in your area.

Talk with people who know the company well, such as employees or managers. If they're happy with their job and the organization, they'll be able to give you information on how things work there, how long it took them to get promoted and so on.

Look at professional association websites (such as Society for Human Resource Management) for information about their memberships and special events. They often have lists of upcoming events that include job fairs or other types of recruiting events sponsored by the organization itself or by member companies.

Attend career fairs: Career fairs are a great way to meet potential employers face-to-face and learn more about their companies' culture and values. Some fairs even offer valuable prizes at their end! Many companies will host their own career fairs where they'll help connect candidates with positions within the organization's department or division.
