Unsolicited submissions of up to 800 words are accepted at Eureka Street. On the off chance that you are about to submit a poetry, if it's not too much trouble, keep to the rules on Verse beneath.)

Humane and ethical commentary on politics, religion, popular culture, or world events should be provided in articles. When an article is published and invoiced, freelancers are paid $200 for exclusive first publication rights (see PAYMENT section below). They will also pay $200 for the first rights to publish up to 1000 words of "creative non-fiction" and short fiction.

Please be aware that Jescom will deduct the writer's payment from any bank fees incurred for international payments.

Please read Eureka Street and become familiar with the topics and styles that we find appealing before submitting your work. They get a lot of submissions that show no understanding of what Eureka Street usually publishes. These pieces are extremely unlikely to be accepted and may not receive a response given the volume of submissions.

They enjoy receiving submissions that include:

1. a minimum amount of formatting (no images, indents, or double spacing) single spacing following full stops single' quotes
