This was absolutely new thing for me too, but when I researched it then I realized that it is possible to earn money by uploading our college notes. There are a lot of sites those who are offering this service but one of the most legitimate site which I used is Stuvia.com I checked its rating in trust piolet and scam advisor I found it's very good rating on both of these sites. Then I register there and started uploading my used and fresh notes there, now I am getting good response from people, as many students needs some notes and they didn't find it anywhere si they try to get it from these types of sites as Stuvia and Chegg.com and they pay some money for this and finally we get our payment from this site through these students payment.
