All industrialists have one thing in mind - to profit from their investment.

Before a producer makes a decision on where to site his plant, he considers his costs and weigh them against his benefits.

Locational factors associated with various sites are important to him since these factors will influence his costs and increase or diminish his total benefits.

He will consider the ease of obtaining fuel or power, raw materials and labour, his market prospects, and the transportation costs for his finished goods. Only after he has weighed all the locational factors of the different sites should he decide to build on any particular one.

The follow are factors that influence the location of an industry in a given area.

POWER SUPPLIES
This modern industries require a lot of power for their operation. Coal, gas, electricity abs recently, solar energy ,are the motive force behind the machines.

RAW MATERIALS
Some industries are set up bear their sources of raw materials.

Thevraw materials that attract industries to themselves are those referred to as " weight-losing".

LABOUR SUPPLY
Some industries care termed " Labours attracted industries".

Thus means the industries have tendency to be located where labour us available .This happens wherevsjilled labour is difficult to attract awayvfrom the existing centres of production.

MARKET
Some industries are set up near the markets fie the finished goods. These are called "market-oriented industries".

TRANSPORT
Transport cost exercises an important influence on the location of industries, because to minimize transport cost is to reduce cost of production and distribution and thus, increase benefits.

INDUSTRIAL INERTIA
New industries tend to be establish in traditional sites or areas where other industries have grown.
This is because of external economies enjoyed by the industries.

FOOT-LOOSE INDUSTRIES
Some. industries are nucknamed " foot-loose" because they can be set up any where without their costs being materually affected. This means that such industries have no overriding advantage in being located near material supplies, market production centres or labour supply.

The question is that; is the location of industries matters?

To me, the location of the industry does not matter at all. It all depends on the what you are producing or selling. I have seen people going very far to get some goods not minding how far the location is. They will surely come as long as you have what they want, they will definitely come looking for you.

whether it is an industry or factory you must endeavour to put the location where your factory or industry will be situated into proper consideration . majority of business owners have failed to put the concept of the factor of location for their business into proper consideration now they are faced with low or no patronage from members of the public , because the environment in which his or her business is situated is actually not conducive for the business to survive and be successful . For example if you want to open a pure water sachet and bottling company , you must endeavour to put your location and your environment into proper consideration so as not to end up situating your business in an area where the individuals living in there do not have any interest or taste for drinking pure water rather they are used to getting their water from streams , Rivers , lakes etc and after passing some series of water purification they then drink the water .

With this scenario I strongly believe that you understand why it is important to put your business or industry environment and location into proper consideration . In conclusion , location for the business is actually one factor to put into proper consideration and the inability to put your location for your business into proper consideration usually bring negative and devastating business repercussions and results .

Majority of the industries in my country are located in the city area albeit there are a few industries that are located in the rural areas as well. One of the main reasons why many factories or industries are located in an urban area is obviously because many labors reside in the urban area. These labors actually come from rural areas to city in order to find work and they end up working in these factories. The other reason why owners choose to set up factories or industries in urban area is because they need to supply their finished products in markets and these major markets are mostly located in urban areas.

However, they also need to supply products to rural areas, so they resolve this problem by setting up a small plant in a rural area where they could manufacture products or they have to pay extra transportation costs in order to transport goods to the rural area. Many factories in my city are located in some specific places. This is because the government does not allow factory owners to set up places in residential area and it does not even make sense to create a factory in a commercial area.

Location matters alot when it comes to business, an industry that is close to a crowded place, where there's a good population will make it for some salient reasons.

One of which includes:
Raw materials are one of the important factors in an industrial location. The mere
location of industries itself may be determined by the availability or location of the raw
materials.

Availability of labor or skilled workforce is the success mantra for the growth of all
industries. Before starting an industry in a location consider if you can get a good labour force in such an environment. Having staffs is a backbone of an industry, you can't do the works alone you need to employ hands to help.

Availability of easy transportation always influences the location of the industry. So
the junction points of waterways, roadways and railways become humming centers of industrial activity. The site that is selected for the establishment of an industry must be flat and well served by adequate transport facilities. There must be a road road for easy access less you lose investors or customers.

It is also important that an industry be built in an environment that provides good power supply. Basically industries need water and light for good and easy production.

Location is key to the success of any industry, in starting up of a new industry it is very important to study and put into consideration the location of where to site the industry. For industry to survive and do well then it must be close or located near it resources. It is important for industry to be close to it source of raw materials so as not to hamper production, industry need constant supply of raw materials to keep it line of production going so therefore it is good for industry to be close to it source of raw materials to supply. Another very good factor why location is key to siting an industry in a location is the targeted customers. Customers are the main reason why an industry is been established, industry are mostly establish to serve and meet people demand. The kind of people that live in a geographical location will determine the kind of industry that will be located there in that environment. If an industry is located or sitted in a location and it final product is not in line or does not meet the need of the people in that area, the business will not last long or find it difficult to survive.

In any business, the location is very important the business location must be considered first because the business location will determine the success if the business. I said this because so many things are attached to the location. This is the major reason why the location of the business Will go a long way to determining the success of the business plans. This imply that the business location is an integral part of the business plans and invariably, the backbone to the success of the business that we are talking about. We have seen many good business plans failed woefully due to the bad choice of location. This is why it must be taken very seriously and also choose with precision. Lots of factors are to be considered before choosing the site to situate the company. One of such factor is nearness to the raw materials . The raw materials are very important at the the production phase and this is basically the reason why we need to consider the nearness to the raw materials. Then, the closeness to the market is another important factor to be considered. The location must be very accessible to the market because this is where the product would be sold.

Yes and yes the location of where your business is located reply matters because it will depend on the kind of consumers which you will get if you get your business location in a rural place and you sell expensive things there is no way you will get sales because the people around that area won't be able to afford or use what you're selling.

Apart from marketing your business on social media location also plays a part in your customers finding you you must choose a good spot where your customers can find you easily and buy your products in order to increase sales lack of that will lead to your business going down which is nit a good thing especially if your business is a low capital one.

In every business in general, the location of the business plays a very important role, not just to the benefits of the business owner but also to the final consumers.
I as a customer would definitely not want to waste my time, energy, money and probably fuel in going to carry out a business transaction when I can actually do it somewhere closer. Such far places is a huge turn off to customers.
