Do You Need a Website For Affiliate Marketing

Website is mandatory if you want to do affiliate marketing for Commission Junction or Linkshare. However, if you want to use Amazon or Clickbank, having a website is not a requirement. You can also find a lot of programs that offer you affiliate commission and having a website is not mandatory. Does this mean you can actually make money from affiliate marketing without needing a website to promote products?

If you don’t want to use a website for affiliate marketing, you will have to use social media to generate affiliate sales. You can also use email marketing, or sales funnels, to generate sales. In order to sell on social media you'll need a large following. If you want to sell through email marketing, you need a huge email list of genuine subscribers.

If you want to promote through your website, you need to work hard to build traffic on your site. You will also need to do SE to get your website ranked high. This is not an easy job.

You don't need a website for affiliate marketing (unless the affiliate network you are joining has this rule). You can use social media and generate sales. However, in order to generate sales on your affiliate products, you need social pages with a huge following, not a page with 1k-2k followers but a page with 50k-200k followers. generally speaking the average conversion rate for social media is about 5-7 percent (based on niches). So, more followers mean more sales. Before you can generate sales, you also have to build an audience. You might have to spend a lot of money to build followers (by running ads). If you want to generate sales through social media, you will have to promote your products through content, and video content seems to have better engagement compared to other kinds of content. Therefore, you need video making skills if you want to use social media to generare sales.

There is no need for a website to do this. You can promote your affiliate products on social media. But having a Facebook Fanpage is required at least to have a place for your CTA. Or, You can have a Shopify store which is very easy to handle.
