Certificates or skills: Which is more important?

The world is advancing already and it seems as though we have passed through the era of people who rely on government jobs for themselves and their family.

More and more orientation is currently going on now to let people know that there is no sense in focusing on acquiring enough certificate without you having some skills that will be relevant to do institutions that you are planning to work for.

I am of the opinion that both certificate and skills matter in this life and an individual should not just focus on one without getting the other.

I see the two of them has been the same side of a coin and there is no way you can completely rely on one without the other.

You can argue that there are some people who only acquired skills and did not have all the certificates and they are making so much money in our world today, but the fact still remains that it is people who have the necessary certification and knowledge that are behind the progress of those industries and organisations owned by those people who did not have any of the certificates.

In all we just have to realise that the both are relevant to the progress of the society in general.

That is very true. These days, skills are more important than just having papers. If you have certificates, then they should be a true representative of the skills that you actually have. That way, you get hired in a good job because you are actually qualified.

Many graduates make the mistake of just depending on the theoretical knowledge they gained in school to apply for Jobs. They end up not qualifying because they only have the papers and no proof of actual skills.

In order to be more skilled, you should actually make an effort to work in the field you studied for. This can start even while you are studying. You can join clubs that are related to what you are studying for and volunteer in institutions in that field. That way, you start gaining the skills and practicing what you learn.

@Abigael that's the mistake seriously, and it is very unfortunate seeing the fact that most upcoming ones have not really realize how things are operating in this society yet .

Most of them still prefer to spend your time on social media and doing so many unproductive things, instead of settling down to learn a skill that would be of immense help to them and their family members in the future.

People like this usually end up in a frustrated states where they have new anything to do than to sit down daily ad blame the government of their countries for not giving them jobs to do.

There is actually a need to look beyond The four Walls of a university or any other academic environment, and then think big to see how they can contribute meaningfully to society instead of just going about with some kind of jobs that have made to appear like the normal routine.

The global inflation is also making life so difficult, especially for people that have made up your minds to rely on the government and notes think outside the box.

People who spend so much time learning a particular skill are usually the ones that do not ge affected by unfavorable government policies.
