Anaemia is a major problem that occurred during pregnancy and the tropics. Patient usually have hemoglobin lower than world health organisation recommended level of 11.5%. in the tropics any woman with heamoglobin level of less than 10% is anemic.
The level of 10% less than the world health organisation standard is considered adequate in this environment due to poverty. Environmental hazard and poor nutrition can cause anaemia in pregnancy .
These are the causes of anaemia in pregnancy. this are they causes of anaemia in pregnant women such as iron deficiency,
folate deficiency,
hookworm infestation,
malaria,
sickle cell disease.
Renal and liver problems and so on.
When a woman is missing a period for a month, she should proceed to the hospital to confirm the causes and how to take care of herself even if it is pregnancy.
