Can gambling have a bad effect on the health?

I admit that I was into gambling with betting on horse racing before we moved into this home 20 years ago. It is exciting to watch the races when I have a bet. Of course, it was a wonderful feeling when my bet would win and I would receive a juicy dividend. But horse racing was my only gambling game. I don’t enjoy playing cards because the losses might be big especially with poker.

In one article that I read which was written by a psychologist gambling has a bad effect on the health. When the gambler loses he may suffer depression. That can happen when the stake is high. There are many suicides of casino gamblers due to heavy losses. One gambler had even sold his home for his betting money. If the gambler won the jubilation is only for a short time while for a loss the sadness is longer.

gambling can have an adverse effect on your health, especially mental health. About 99 percent of people lose in gambling, which means most of the people who gamble are losing. When you lose $1-$2, it may not be a big deal, but what if you are losing $100-$200 just over a game of roulette?

Gambling is not good for mental health especially if the gambler is losing. And how many gamblers are really winning all their bets. I do not think we have many gamblers that are winning 50% of all their bets, I doubt that. And if you are losing definitely you will be sad, and I don't think that's healthy for the heart and the brain.

You are correct and do well with the explanation you gave. But I want yo add that gambling as we all know that its very risky and its a game of uncertainty. A game that you can't say may be you are going to win or loss. So therefore if loss now occur to some body who do not expect it at that moment it may lead to sickness or some people may even develop mental problem.
