The general approach to Job and career is that it a must for one to pass through school and the school should pass through one.
In my country, the mentality is that one should attend primary, then secondary and followed by tertiary institution most especially University. The general belief is that the certificate acquired from that university will automatically qualify someone for Job or careers of life. It is as if one cannot succeed in life without going to University.
Most people do not choose Colleges of Education, Colleges of technology, Technical colleges . Most students and parents always like to choose for tertiary admission a university as if it is opium of success. However it is not.
Nowadays we have found out that practical work pays than white collar job that everyone is looking to for.
My opinion is that skill acquisition is best form of Job and career of this present day. Other than aspiring to be university education and mere certification.
