3-d Policy Insurance was the former name for what is now known as a commercial crime insurance policy. The standard form gives coverage for non-financial institutions and the losses from a different kinds of crimes. While 3-D policies have traditionally been used by businesses, they have become more popular in recent years as smaller firms have begun to face more challenges from cyber attacks and other online crimes.

3-D policies are typically written with coverage limits on the types of losses that are covered, such as computer hacking or identity theft. They also allow the policyholder to define their own deductible levels and deductibles, which can be higher or lower than those set by insurance regulators or state laws. 3-D policy insurance policies are available in several forms, including:

Standard Form – Provides coverage for all types of third-party claims, including property damage, bodily injury and death.

Commercial Crime Package – Provides coverage to cover losses from a number of different crimes, including fraud, bribery and computer hacking.

Customized Package – Designed specifically for your business or industry. Available for coverage for losses caused by specific acts of fraud or other criminal activity that you identify as being important to your company's operations.
