There are many principles, rules and ethics that persons set around their lives in order to help them save. But at times, most of such do not work as they still struggle the urge to spend their savings or even stop saving money completely.
I have been applying these two techniques to help me save and also keep me from spending my savings.
1. The principle of paying my self first: This is a rule that enforces me to save the allotted amount from my income as a money paid to myself for working before spending anything from my total earnings. I have an auxiliary savings account where I channel that payment once my salary is paid.
2. The principle of borrowing from myself: To help keep me from spending up my savings, I also set a rule that any amount I withraw from my savings is borrowed and must be refunded regardless of anything. So I avoid spending from my savings because I know I have to refund it back in a period of less than one month.
