Consumer protection is very essential because it protects consumers against the exploitation from selfish and unscrupulous sellers who may want to offer false credit facilities low-quality and even goods that are harmful as a result of using deceptive weights and measures. In countries like Nigeria consumer protection is usually neglected but in developed or advanced country consumer protection is more enhanced.
but what are the reasons that goes with the protection of our consumers will always consider few of them:

1. To ensure maximum satisfaction: in order for your consumers to get maximum satisfaction from goods you have to protect themfrom goods bought and value of their money being spent.

2. Protection against dangerous and harmful goods: consumer must be protected against dangerous goods and harmful goes this will ensure that does offer to sell herself an uncontaminated fake or expired.

3. inadequate instruction of direction: instruction or direction need to be provided so that consumers can not make wrong use of manufacturers item and suffer injuries or losses in the end example commodities that has to do with electrical items etc. If a consumer uses and commodity wronglythere is possibility that it might lead to harmful results which is what we must avoid.

Consumer protection is very essential because there wouldn't have been any law that will protect the end users or final consumers in the case of an exploitation. The end users are always at the receiving end of all the challenges that hits or sets in at the production stage, they incure all the expenses as the producer's and the middlemen ( wholesalers and retailers) always take their profits margin on the final consumers with nothing for them to fall back to, to challenge some of the excesses of the actors in the field of production and distribution. So consumer protection bodies stand in places to check mate this excesses.

Again in regulating the activities of the manufacturer's in a country the consumer protection society also serve as a watchdog to ensure that goods and services that goes into circulation are properly scrutinized, so as to prevent sub-standard goods andc services are not rendered to the final consumers. They run a background check to ensure that standards are not overlooked and they also fish out thr bad eggs in thr manufacturing industry.

They also try as much as possible to ensure that the right of consumers are not trampled in any legal case involving the final consumers and manufacturers.
