We find that poor economic policies have played an especially important role in the slow growth, most importantly Africa's lack of openness to international markets. In addition, geographical factors such as lack of access to the sea and tropical climate have also contributed to Africa's slow growth.

Below are the causes or some of the factors that affect root of commercial activities in West Africa:

1. Insufficient form and capital: African countries lack sufficient capital to cope with the expanding nature of business activities level of capital formation is low.

2. Political instability: constant change of government and will have ended investment in West Africa foreign investors are afraid to invest in the sub-region.

3. Low savings: the culture of saving is very low in West Africa and Africa as a whole hence there is no money for commercial transactions

4. Low per capita income: the capital income is very low majority of people in this region are living below the poverty line the low level of income leads to low purchasing power for the people

5. Lack of adequate commercial
facilities: the various aids to trade such as Bank insurance Warehouse tourism are not well developed and this has gently in the commerce.

6. predominance of primary production: majority of people in this region are engaged in primary agricultural productions which does not favour speedy commercial growth.

7. poor transport and communication system: the region has very poor road network as well as poor communication system most of the people have no access to telephone or internet.

8. low level of education and illiteracy the high rate of illiteracy in this region has also affected the growth of commerce many of the people are not educated they can neither read nor write and consequently cannot interact with foreign traders in a business transaction.

9. absence of word develop markets markets in West Africa and North were developed to accommodate large-scale commercial activities.

Infact this is a very interesting topic, west Africa is a very interesting place to be a region in Africa that is so blessed with all manner of resources, ranging from natural resources to human resources but still one of the most backyard place on planet earth.

The are somany factors responsible for this dwindling commercial activities in west Africa, first I will say is the poor leadership management structurein west Africa, the political leaders lacks the political will to do what is right. The major issue is that most west Africans are not literate enough hence they elect leaders that do not have the interest of the people at heart rather they are concern with their personal interest . For this reason they do things that will never create an enabling and healthy environment for businesses to thrive, there is no healthy and lecvel playing ground for the people.

Then another challenge responsible for this is the level of education of the peoples of west Africa a very large population of the peoples of west Africans are youths and many of them are children, the highest number of out of school children are in west Africa and west African holds the highest number of people in the continent.

In the part of Africa where I stay to be precise Nigeria commercial activities is estimately not going so well over here a lot of people have good business ideas but there are some factors hindering them from implementing or establishing the businesses they have in mind they good example of factors hindering commercial activities in Nigeria is lack of government and support, this is true Because a lot of people lack capital to start up their own business and the government itself is not doing anything to aid this young minded entrepreneurs and most job opportunities over here are not even commission-based thereby killing the thinking of economic development and growth, another factor that hinders commercial activities in Nigeria is illiteracy, this is so true because a lot of people in Nigeria are not educated thereby killing the thought of commercial activities, even the commercial practicecers we have in Nigeria and not educated enough to interact with the outside world or to interact with other big companies owned by great entrepreneurs all around the world and even though they try to communicate with this one's they get cheated neglected because of our left behind educational system. Finally no capital at hand is actually one of the reasons why commercial activities are hindered most commercial activities over here are just small scale businesses although some people who want to go for bigger and large-scale business but yet capital are not available
