Would you earn more by creating a blog or an online store? Let’s find out.

You do not have to spend a lot of money to start a blog. However, for an online store, you need better hosting and ecommerce CMS or ecommerce platform, which can add up your cost.

For an online store, you will also need to spend money on products if you plan to sell from your own inventory.

When blogs can be easily monetized with ad networks or affiliate ads, you need to sell products in order to generate revenue on your online store.

Running cot for your online store can be high because you will be paying for subscriptions for ecommerce platforms or/and add-ons.

The marketing cost for online store tends to be higher compared to a blog. You will have to run paid ads for your online store, however, for a blog that is almost unnecessary. Since you do not have to spend a lot of money on blog maintenance, you will not be under pressure to make money. However, it costs a lot of money to run your online store and you are under pressure to generate sales otherwise you end up spending money from your pockets.

So, what can you do?

A better approach is to create a blog, add a shop page to create a dropship store or a print-on-demand store.

You have written a very good thread and I think it's really good . Based on your explanation, it clearly showed that creating a blog is more rewarding than creating an e-commerce website because blog is more economical and the monetization process is simple unlike what you would get in e-commerce. It is very important to carry out analysis on this so that you'll be able to make decisions and make the right judgement. So many people will just jump on creating e-commerce simply because people told them that it is lucrative but they wouldn't bother to weigh the advantages and disadvantages that is involved in this type of enterprise.

There is no doubt online stores will be more profitable financially because you sell products and make money from each products. On blogs mainly earn from ads (network ads as well as affiliate ads), You might earn good commissions from affiliate ads and earn high cpc rate from network ads but still your earnings will be less compared to online store. The best approach is to create a blog on the home page and an online store is on the directory or subdomain and run blog as well as an online store at the same time. This will allow you to maximize your profits.
