I think it is an important health insurance program for those with low income and I am happy that many states chose to expand Medicaid eligibility under ACA (Affordable Care Act) rules. An ounce of prevention really is worth a pound of cure. Access to programs such as Medicaid helps keep people healthier at a lower cost through preventative care, rather than emergency or advanced illness interventions for those who delay treatment until it's too late due to the lack of coverage.
