No, not even close to the best way.
Say you’re promoting a store that sells novelty electronics. Every customer you send makes you say 15% of the sale. Who gets the other 85%? These novelty electronics items are most likely manufactured in China and purchased in bulk for $2 to be sold for $20. People who want to get rich try affiliate marketing and now and then some get lucky and manage to make enough money and learn enough about the system to actually move on to getting rich. People who already understand how business online works get people who want to get rich to make them rich. You start a store, join an affiliate network as a merchant, and you get rich off of affiliate marketers trying to get rich. It's never the person promoting other people’s work, products, or ideas who get rich it is those who manipulate others into doing their work for them.
Now say you want to get rich, forget everything you’ve learned about affiliate marketing. Study the markets themselves. Look at what the other side, the merchants/advertisers are doing. See if you can find where they are getting their products (a simple google search for bulk amounts of a specific product they sell on their site can find a supplier), look how they market their business, look for what they use to encourage others to promote their business for it.
