Bancor was developed by Galia Benartzi, Guy Benartzi, Eyal Hertzog, and Yudi Levi in 2017 on Bancor Protocol that is based on the Ethereum blockchain, it was launched as ERC-20 token.
Bancor network was hacked in 2018 and hackers stole 23.5 millions worth of crypto, Bancor was able to recover 10 million BNT, however ETH and othere were never recovered, Bancor then froze the funds which made people think it is not decentralized.
Bancor is still active in coin market, its ticker is BNT. At nearly 100 rank among cryptocurrencies in the coin market, its Total supply is over 100 million BNT, currently all of BNT are circulating in the coin market. Exchangers like Bancor network itself, with other exchangers like HitBTC, Binance etc use BNT in trading.
