What does NDIS require for assistive tech replacement?

  • For item costing less than $15,000, participants need to provide evidence from an assistive technology advisor that the replacement is suitable for them.
  • For item costing more than $15,000, participants need to provide an assessment from an assistive technology assessor for the last 2 years showing that the replacement is suitable for them. Participants should also provide a quote.
  • The NDIS will decide if a participant needs reassessment If their plan is set and they lack funds for a replacement.
  • Participants need to consider if their assistive technology might need replacing soon before having a plan reassessment.
