Weekly accomplishment report of staff

When I was working in the bank I was annoyed by the weekly accomplishment report that was required of us by the manager. All the while I had not thought of the main purpose of the weekly report.

When I talked to our supervisor, she explained that our boss wanted to keep track of what we are doing. She was right on that. Another thing is that the boss also wants to know something about programming because his background is systems and methods. Clearly said, the weekly report is like an assignment by the manager that he tries to learn the projects that we programmers were doing. When I became operations manager of a software house, I did not implement the weekly report but I was the one writing down the status of the projects.
