Three Different Ways to Build Customers

There are a lot of different ways to build customers, however, I would like to share three main methods to build your customers. These methods apply to the online business as well as offline business

Organic Method

Organic method means people find your business/product somewhere, they check your basic information and end up buying the product. For example, people see your product while searching online, and they buy the product.

Referral customers

Referral customers are the people who buy the product just because they have been referred. For example, you see a lot of people talking positively about a certain product on social media or a friendly gathering, and out of curiosity you buy the product.

Advertising

You run ads on traditional platform as well as digital platform based on where your potential customers are centered. If your ad appeals to your target customers, they will buy your products. A lot of businesses generate sales through this method.

You can bring customers to your business through the organic method, referral method, and advertising. However, you should never choose one of the methods over the other. You need to use all of these methods to maximize your sales and profits. If you entirely depend on the organic method, someone will replace your product with a better strategy and you will start losing your customers. If you depend heavily on referral customers, one day when people stop referring your products, there will be no sales. Likewise, advertising requires spending money and when you depend entirely on advertising, you will end up spending a lot of money on advertising your product. Therefore, you will have to use everything at your disposal in order to generate sales. When you are using multiple methods to bring customers, even when one method fails or does not bring too many customers, there will always be another method to bring customers.

You should try all the available methods in finding clients. The most underated ones are via oral advertising and customer satisfaction. Whenever you are and whatever you are doing, you should be able to tell people what you do and why they should patronize you. Also, when you satisfy the customers you have they are the ones that will tell of you to others. They will willingly speak about you when they are with family or friends. That is why it is important to have your business card handy always, you never know who you'll meet. Treat your customers well too, they will refer you to others.

I believe the referral method is one of the best and most effective way to get customers. you can easily pay people to refer others to your business, or give out rewards for does who refer your business to others, but the best way to get more referrals is when your customers actually refer themselves without being told. And these can only happen when they are satisfied. In other words, to get more customers through referrals you need to have a satisfied customer base.

When you want to choose a method of advertisement for your business's products or service, it's important to consider your customers also. While you can choose to get them organically, through referrals or by paying for adverts or using all three, doing the proper research will help you choose which will work best and fastest.


For example, if you want to get customers for a local salon, you'll find that referrals would work easier and faster and paying for adverts on an international platform like Google or Facebook would be a waste of time and money.

For someone selling digital products or services though, referrals would probably be the way to get the least customers .

From what I've seen though, the best and long lasting customers are usually gained organically or through referrals whom they trust

Advertising, in my opinion, is the best way to increase awareness of your products or services. This will help to build and strengthen your brand, which can create a more positive perception of your business in the minds of potential customers. By targeting specific audiences through advertising you can drive more traffic to your store and ultimately convert potential customers into paying customers.
