The affiliate marketing business is a tough one. It can be frustrating and it requires a lot of work. But being an affiliate marketer is also a great way to make money online, as long as you do it right. The problem is that there are so many myths about affiliate marketing out there, many of which are so common that people just accept them as fact without questioning them. Here's what you need to know about affiliate marketing:

1. Myth: You must have a website in order to be an affiliate marketer

2. Myth: You should only promote products related to your niche

3. Myth: You should only promote products that you've personally used or purchased yourself

4. Myth: You should never advertise your own products on other people's sites

5. Myth: Affiliate links are "gimmicks" or "spam"

6. Myth: There is no money in affiliate marketing.

You don't need a website to do affiliate marketing, however, there are affiliate networks that require you to have a website. If you want to do affiliate marketing without having a website, you need social pages with a huge following, an email list of genuine subscribers, and some sort of funnel system.
If you are promoting through your website, promoting niche related products will help, if you are promoting through social media, promoting products related to your niche will help in selling. But it is absolutely not necessary, selling is all about how you market.
You can promote any products you want but if you promote the product you purchased and if you can share your own pictures and videos of you using the product, it will boost confidence among your audience and improve sales. Affiliate marketing for advertisers means promoting your products on someone else's website, this is one of the easiest ways to drive sales for businesses.
