The makeup of a company's departments can have a significant impact on the company as a whole. It is important for each department to have its own unique role and responsibilities. This will allow for greater efficiency and effectiveness within the organization. If a department does not have its own unique responsibilities, there is a good chance that it will overlap with other departments and become overly complicated. This can lead to confusion among employees as well as unnecessary expenses for the company.
If you have ever worked in an office environment, then you know how important it is for different departments to be properly separated from one another. Each department has its own set of procedures, rules and policies that must be followed by all employees. The more employees who are allowed access into other departments, the easier it will be for mistakes and errors to occur during daily operations. For example, let's say that two departments within your company were responsible for paying bills and filing paperwork in relation to customer accounts. If both departments were allowed access into each other's areas, then there would be no way to guarantee that payments were being made correctly or if files were being filed properly after they were completed by an employee from either department.
