It gives the career professionals some space and flexibility, autonomy, entrepreneurial opportunities, variety of work, possibility of earning higher income and chance to go global. On the other hand, there are disadvantages such as uncertain earnings, lack of benefits like health insurance and retirement plans, low job security rates, self-employment taxes, feeling lonely due to isolation, difficulties in accessing normal loans or even loss of skills or changes in industry thus there is reduced employer benefits.

Another cause for this may be irregular income patterns that prevent gig workers from taking out traditional loans or mortgages. They could also be isolated by remote working or suffer from problems in securing regular lending.

Also some gig workers need continuously upskilling themselves in order to stay competitive; otherwise they will not have access to such employer paid-for benefits as health insurance services, retirement savings schemes and certifications.

Depending on their personal preferences, financial circumstances and career direction prospects; professional should carefully consider these advantages and disadvantages so as to limit any negative effects possible.
