If we are talking about what is better: to create your own site or sell on a ready-made platform, I'd choose the first one as it offers more possibilities in the future. You will be able to widen your business by working on SEO and marketing. Shopify is no doubt a good choice though is not the only one. If we compare vtex vs shopify, for example, we'll see that VTEX’s approach to eCommerce SaaS is similar to Shopify. However, with VTEX IO retail companies can develop custom storefront apps, custom admin apps, custom back-end apps, custom Pixel apps, and custom mobile apps to expand VTEX’s functionality.

Shopify vs Amazon is one of the biggest battles in the ecommerce world. They’re both big names and offer big opportunities for online sellers. Still, there’s lots to think about and Shopify won’t be right for absolutely everybody. There’s no definite answer, and it totally depends on what you’re selling and all the other factors that go into running a business. Overall, Shopify supports more long-term growth for your business, and helps you stand out from your competitors more.
