If you have an interesting story then you could try selling it to the papers or a viral social media company. You will need at least one photo or ideally a video.

One of the Save the Student team was unfortunate enough to have a pigeon fly through and smash their window at university and sold the story to The Sun for a tidy.

Some national TV programmes like You've Been Framed will also pay you up to £250 for funny footage. Or just publish it yourself on YouTube with ads.

As an avenue for selling short stories online, Amazon Kindle books, or short stories are growing in popularity these days. By this way one can retain the ownership of their work, and have greater control over the whole process of publishing. On Amazon and Kindle, there are many individual consumers who are ready and also willing to pay for a nice short story published under one's name. The reason for the short story trend is that people nowadays have less free time, and most of them don’t have the attention span for a story that's long.

Many people have been steadily getting a passive income by publishing their short stories on Amazon Kindle. A lot of writers have found success and their short stories are being shown on the best selling list of the Kindle store. If one writes well, then Amazon is the best for selling their fiction or nonfiction short stories, this will be great way to earn some passive income.
