There are many claims that the ongoing 15 months old case between Ripple Labs and SEC is going to end this year.

The Confidence
Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse at the Davos conference in Switzerland stated that Ripple may launch an Initial Public Offering (IPO), after the litigation with the US Securities and Exchange Commission is resolved. Garlinghouse appears to be very much confident in his ability to win the case against the SEC.

The Lawsuit
. The SEC has filed a lawsuit against Garlinghouse and Ripple Labs Executive Chairman Chris Larsen for allegedly providing illegal securities through the sale of XRP while Ripple Labs has refused to accept XRP as a security. The lawsuit's outcome now hinges on whether XRP should be classified as a security or not.

Public Reaction
There has been an uptick in XRP purchases as a result of Garlinghouse's remarks. It appears that XRP Hodlers are also ledger confident in the trial's early completion.
