Poly Network is paying 500,000 USD to the good hacker.and has described him as "White Hat."

The unknown hacker, who stole $611 million worth of digital currency from the Poly Network on August 10, 2021, slowly returned all cryptocurrencies to the network within a few days.

In a report to the Poly Network, the hacker stated that he hacked just for fun, and that hacking was very simple, first he wanted to alert the network by telling it; But then with this information, any manager of the network could also hack the network, which would have harmed the investors, so he himself had fun by doing so and also brought attention to the network.

Poly Networks has also deferred its intention to take any action against the hacker, instead announced a bug bounty of half a million dollae to the hacker.

That's one of the disadvantages of some wallets. They are easily prone to being hacked. Though I won't put the blame wholy on the wallet. Sometimes, the users are so careless with the way they handle their wallets. Can you imagine the whole some of money that was given to the hacker just because of a little careless act.

Maybe there was no way the hacker could actually covert the cryptos in fiat money, or exchange to other currencies, therefore, he returned the hacked coins. Except for privacy coins, all transactions can be traced, and sooner or later the hacker could have been caught. Maybe that was the reason why the hacker chose to land safely.

@btaliat That was not a little thing. The award given to the hacker was not even 0.1% of the total asset, and they are offering him job to avoid problem.

@Mika When remove the "maybe" that hacker could have enjoyed the asset (maybe yes or maybe not) or either have burned it to avoid action against himself.
