Sometimes property owners cannot live in the house they have purchased due to personal reasons, they are living in another city or town. In such cases, in some areas the neighbours are falsely claiming to own the empty houses, bank account and other assets of the home owner, for which the address has been used. The neighbors are often high status, considered respectable and well connected. What can the home owner do to prevent this type of real estate fraud?
