Inventory are stock of goods available in a business for the purpose of reselling. Perishability is the act spoilage of items after a specified period of time. We refer to a particular inventory as perishable if it has a very close time to spoilage or perishability. Management is simply the act of controlling a particular subject matter with a view to derive maximum benefits from it.

Perishable goods are mostly raw products from agricultural sector like Tomatoes, Banana, Maize, Sugar cane, carrot , orange etc. Perishability can also emanate from processed foods like Bread, cake, butter, vegetable oil, and can foods, Cooked foods are also part of perishable items as it is not okay for foods to be belayed beyond 24 hours without being consumed.

To be trading in consumables like this one needs to be very careful in planning before its implementation. If one is full time business operator, it means one will have enough time to be working on the business. Even if there is no much turnover at a particular time, if there is enough time one can find a way around it by working round the clock to close the sales. Therefore it pays for someone that is having much time to trade in perishable items to avoid loss.

My Advice for up coming, newbie and existing business owner that are not having much time or doing the business on part time should at first start with non perishable items like Soap, cloth, shoe, nylon, bags, raw foods like rice, beans, soya, maize, millets etc.

It is safer if one is not having much time but the inventory are still intact, once it has been safely kept, it can be sold at any point in time.

Managing a perishable business require a lot of thought so that one will not be running at loss in the name of doing business.

Though, consumable items are fast moving especially in workers and students based environment but if one does not have enough time to stay on the business. it requires some level of consideration.
