Making my 10/22 quiet

I just picked up a TX22 and had so much fun that I think I'm going to get a can for it. Of course, thinking of that made me also want to be able to use it on my 10/22.

Seems most threading services I can find will thread and recrown the barrel for around $100 if you're okay losing your front sight, and about $175 if you want to still have a front sight when everything is said and done. I fall into the second category.

Looking around to see if anyone made a drop-in aftermarket threaded barrel for less than $175, I stumbled onto this. The price tag is obviously attractive, and I can see how the device works. But also, is this an astonishingly bad idea? Seems the potential for misalignment and subsequent baffle strikes is... kinda high. Anyone used one of these?
