Maintaining a good number of suppliers

This discussion is geared towards the retailing business for whatever product. In retailing it is a 3-pronged affair between the suppliers and the customers with the business in the middle. Yes, that is why sometimes they are called “middleman” because the store is in the center of the economic activity.

When it comes to retailing the usual focus of the business owner or manager is the customer. Continue the prospecting, continue the advertisement, continue with the marketing activities. They seem to be forgetting that the suppliers should also be given priority in attention. The suppliers are only noticed when there is a shortage of supplies like what happened in the first lockdown here. Food items were missing the store shelves. Even bread and meat products were gone for more than a month. The best advice is to double the number of your suppliers. As much as possible do the delivery from the source to your store. That will give you more profit.
