Risk to reward is one of the most preached topic in the forex industry, I used to be proponent of it too, you know risking 1 percent and getting back 2 percent, it sounds all good and dandy till you open your chart and start trading that's when you'll find out that the risk to reward concept is probably created by an academician not a trader.
When you're trading the only thing you can control is your risk, no one knows what the reward is, isn't it painful to exit at 1:2 and later find out that the market did 1:9, so always define your risk and keep your reward open.
