The introduction of technology throughout the years is taking over the industrial business world . In most huge industries today computers are used to plan coordinate and control production activities which is considered safer and more efficient than manual control . With the help of computer in the industrial sectors mistakes and error can be easily detected and good action is taken to immediately compensate this mistakes and errors . In the Nigerian oil industry the crude oil refining process is a continuous one which solely depends on the maintenance of certain conditions throughout the processes that is why computers are used in the process as a suitable control instrument they control the measure and pressure build-up within the pipes to prevent spillage or any other industrial disaster .
In the mechanical industrial sector computer have made available industrial robot which are fixed with arms capable of performing the motion of a human arm . The robot helps to control critical variable beyond the reach of men with the help of the arms they are able to design and accomplish specific tasks such as painting , welding , picking , placing , and fixing .
