How to Write a Good Blog Post

Blogs are much more than just expressing your interests online. In today's Internet-driven economy, you can win over a lot of new clients just by putting helpful content online. After amassing a sizable blog audience, you can leverage your position as an "influencer" to sell products and services and publish the work of others. If you are a first-time blogger, make sure to keep the following tips in mind.

1. Prepare your blog post by deciding on a topic, sketching out an outline, researching the subject, and so on. See to it that your audience has a genuine interest in the topic you are writing about, whether it is love advice, how-to's, or kitchen hacks. It is best to focus on something that truly interests you. In this way, you will be able to sort through the discussion and determine which issues are worth your time and which are not.

2. Come up with an interesting title. In fact, less than 50% of readers will actually read the entire article on your blog before deciding whether or not to share it with their friends. To see a rise in these numbers, the title must be captivating. You need to add some interest here, and while a sensationalist headline may look reminiscent of tabloids, you can't help but include one. Explain to your audience that you have found a simple answer to their predicament.

3. Create a synopsis. If you have written a long post, it is worth readers' time to skim through and underline the most crucial points before moving on. A summary can serve as a brief outline; however, its placement in the blog post is context-dependent.

Optimize your posts for Search Engine Optimization and encourage your readers to comment on your blog posts.

Writing a blog post can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be. Here are some tips to help you get started:

1. Know your audience. What do you want your readers to take away from reading your post? This is important because if you don't know what they're looking for, it's hard to write something that will help them achieve their goals!

2. Think about the keywords you want people to use when searching for your blog post on Google and Bing. Write them into the first line of each paragraph so people will find your content when they search for them!

3. Use data and statistics in your posts because these are often what people look for most when researching topics online. If you have any relevant facts or numbers that might interest readers, use them!

4. Don't be afraid of writing long posts! Sometimes people don't want to read everything at once; they want information in bite-sized chunks, so break up each section into sentences with short paragraphs so that it's easier for people on their phone screens (or even just on the toilet!).
