If you're like most people, you have a lot of self-sabotaging habits. You might be the type to always put yourself last, or you may allow your emotions to control your financial decisions. But there are ways to change this behavior, and it doesn't necessarily take much effort. Here are four tips:

1. Be aware. The first step in changing your financial habits is being aware of them. That's why it's important to keep track of what's going on in your life so that you can see where your money is going, and how it could be used more efficiently. If you want to be more aware, try keeping a journal or diary (you can even use an app on your phone!), or buy some stickers from the dollar store and stick them on every receipt that goes into that jar or box. The idea is that when you look back at this later, you'll have a better understanding of what happened during the time period covered by those receipts.

2. Get a budget.

3. Track your spending and income.

4. Set up automatic payments for bills and credit cards.
