Focus on learning new skills, also try upskilling as well. Having skills in multiple areas is the key to become successful on freelancing platforms.

Improve the quality of your work. Having skills is good but you need to be highly skilled in what you do. Having high quality skill means you are able to deliver the best. Delivering quality work is the key of being successful as when you deliver quality you will have returning customers.

You also need to have patience. You cannot become successful over night. You also need to put on a professional hat. When you are a professional, people will like to hire you frequently.

Freelancing is getting more hits on the internet, a lot of people are considering working on their own terms because the available alternatives are not worthwhile, so people do not have any option but to freelance, I also think the market is saturated, but even at that there a lot of people making a killing in it and you can do it too, so how do you get started, my advise will be a little bit unconventional.

If you are starting a freelancing career in 2023 being your first time, you should start making a cold outreach to people you know personally because it is only at that time you will be able to make something tangible, if not you will be like everyone else on upwork and fiverr trying to make ends meet by competing with one million people who are willing to do it for less, the choice is definitely yours.

In order to become a successful freelancer you have to learn at least one digital skill because clients are paying you for your skills but if you have several skills then you will be a very successful freelancer especially if you have digital marketing skills which is very necessary to advertise your other skills to clients.

Freelancing platforms are saturated but you need to face challenges to make money; learn a digital skill, do marketing for it, upgrade your skills and sales will come.
